Log Store

We are now offering our UK customers these log stores in ready-made format, delivered right to your door. We call them our Heritage Log Stores.

Specification

The overall dimensions are roughly the same as those stated on the home page but, in order to keep labour costs to a minimum, we use all new Tanalised® softwood, 3in x 1in (75mm x 25mm) for the cladding and 2in x 2in (50mm x 50mm) for the framework. The roof framework is constructed from 2in x 2in (50mm x 50mm) Tanalised® softwood and covered in 1/2in (12mm) Tanalised® ply which is then overlaid with shed grade roofing felt.

As each piece of timber is cut, its endgrain is treated with Ensele® to ensure that the woodwork is fully protected against rot and insect attack.

Another cost saving measure is the use of double coated ringnails to fasten the non-load bearing cladding to the framework. The load bearing sections are glued and screwed together.

Each unit is indvidually manufactured and assembled prior to it being broken down into its basic panels and flat packed ready for collection by our carrier.

Customer's Log Store

Assembly

Full assembly instructions are included and all the panels are marked so there can be no confusion as to where they should fit. The only tools and equipment required to assemble the log store is a number 2 PoziDrive screwdriver and some gloves to handle the rough sawn timber sections. Even if you're a DIY novice, it should take no more than 30 minutes to erect it.

Warranty

You log store will be covered by our 10-year, return to base warranty against insect attack, wet rot, dry rot and to cover the unit's ability to function as a log store.

Please note that all carriage cost for shipping the damaged unit to us for repair and then us returning the repaired unit will be the responsibility of you, the customer.

Because the store will spend its life getting wet and drying out repeatedly, it is to be expected that some of the timber may crack and unless such cracking should cause the log store to fail and render it unsuitable for its intended purpose, this would be classified as normal and expected behaviour.

If, within 10 years from the date of the original invoice your log store should fail and become unsuitable for its intended purpose due to normal wear and tear. In the first instance, please send us photographs of the failed item(s) to the email address on our Contact page along with your invoice number.

It should be expected from time to time that the roofing felt will deteriorate and become torn. As such, the roofing felt is not included in the warranty and, in order to keep your warranty valid, it is your responsibility to ensure that the roofing felt is replaced at the first signs of such deterioration. We offer a re-felting service, please contact us for details.

Damage due to misuse whether malicious or accidental will invalidate your warranty. As will positioning the log store on anything but a hard surface such as paving slabs or concrete.
